This year was filled with royal honors for #ExchangeAlumni! On June 6, Natalia Kazaryan, a 2011-12 #Fulbright alumna, received an award from Queen Sofia after graduating from the Queen Sofía College of Music (Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía). goo.gl/ihqsGh On October 24, King Felipe VI, an honorary Fulbright alumnus, presented The Fulbright Program with the prestigious 2014 Prince of Asturias Award for International Cooperation, an annual prize awarded in Spain by the Prince of Asturias Foundation. The award is conferred on those whose scientific, technical, cultural, social, and humanitarian work “constitutes an outstanding contribution at the international level.” The Foundation recognizes the Fulbright Program “for enhancing and strengthening links and mutual understanding between the world’s citizens.” goo.gl/WysspF And, after their exchange, nine Mandela Washington Fellowship alumni met with King Mswati III at Lozitha Palace to talk about their exchange in the United States.
