This year we have had more rescued cats and kittens than before, - TopicsExpress

This year we have had more rescued cats and kittens than before, mostly from the neighboring Morley. R-mar was founded in January, 2000, and are being contacted about more and more homeless kittens and cats being found on the Reserve (which is particularly harsh for cats.) We also find their paw prints in snow while our team is out rescuing dogs and puppies and see the cats paw prints in the snow. Of course, we follow them! Often we need to use a humane trap since many cats are traumatized due to the harsh environment they are barely surviving in and even though they are meowing for food, they are too fearful to come out from their hiding place. This kitty is a different story. She is our first Jungle Kitty! Our director recently returned from Mexico, and while exploring with her family, was told there was a homeless kitten and dog at an abandoned house in the jungle. Upon arriving, a young black and white heeler mix came out of the unfinished house, and shortly after, a kitten came out meowing from the trees. Very hungry, this kitty meowed its head off. The little thing should of been with its mother. How it ended up without its mother or siblings we dont know. But to leave this little thing alone to survive on nothing but geekos to eat (darling, sweet chirping little lizards) was not what Rory wanted to do. Instead of putting a small homeless street dog in the carry-on bag she brought from home for that purpose, this little kitten flew on West Jet under the seat and arrived in Canada not long ago. Jungle Kitty is ready for a forever home. She loves to play with toys and not afraid of dogs, for that matter, Loves dogs! She likes cuddles and is precious as can be. Here are a set of pictures of Jungle Kittys journey. And of course, like many newly rescued cats and dogs, they know to get into your suitcase when packing, to make a point! :) Click on the photo to see the album of its journey from the Mexican jungle to Calgary International. Cousins helped with making the kitty more comfortable and to feel loved, and we met another person on holiday at the airport who had rescued a small dog from the local shelter and was holding it next to us in the airport. We encourage people who want small dogs and going on holiday to Mexico, to go to the local shelter for a pet. And, bring a carry on with you. There are many medium and large dogs in Canada to adopt, but not a lot of little dogs. Mexico, has more than you can count :(, all, homeless. Any one finding one you befriend and cant bare to leave it behind (like us!) but not in the market to adopt a pet, you can take it to the local vet for vaccinations, health certificate and spay, and fly it back with you and we will take it into our sanctuary. Applications to adopt and foster are on our website: Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue
