This years Global Solutions Forum begins this Thursday! In addition to students, course instructors, and school representatives, guest presenters will also be working with our NGO guests. To learn more about Neena Jain and Bill Rohs from emBOLDen Alliances (emboldenalliances.org), read below: Neena Jain: Executive Director of emBOLDen Alliances For over 20 years, Dr. Neena Jain has worked in international assistance and global health throughout Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean with agencies including Doctors Without Borders, International Medical Corps, Australian Aid International, and Save the Children. Her pursuit of a career in medicine began when she completed her studies for a BA in Human Biology at Stanford University. He then earned a Masters of Science in Tropical Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health, an MD at SUNY Brooklyn Health Sciences Center, and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. After becoming board-certified in emergency medicine in 2001, Neena was an attending physician at Swedish and Denver Health Medical Centers. She also served as the Director for the Program in Humanitarian Assistance while teaching classes at University of Denver Korbel School of International Studies. Additionally, she taught the tropical medicine course at the University of Colorado Denver Health Sciences Center and completed epidemiologic studies and public heath projects for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Neena is currently utilizing these diverse experiences with the non-profit she founded, emBOLDen Alliances (emboldenalliances.org). The driving passions and goals of this organization are to enhance the quality, efficacy, efficiency, and impact of service delivery, capacity-building, and programmatic collaborations for vulnerable, underserved, and crisis-affected communities. Bill Rohs: Operations and Logistics Specialist for emBOLDen Alliances Bill Rohs brings a dynamic and diverse background to his work in operations and logistics at emBOLDen Alliances (emboldenalliances.org). He has over 10 years of direct field experience in humanitarian assistance and international development throughout Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean with nongovernmental organizations such as Doctors Without Borders, Save the Children, and International Medical Corp. Through these organizations, Bill has worked in many difficult and remote settings, many of which were in post-crisis situations. In addition to his international work, he has 15 years of experience in business and restaurant ownership and management as well as training in industrial design and art education. Bill has used his extensive experience in operations and logistics to run numerous field operations and manage scores of field staff. A sample of the programs Bill has helped to operationalize and see through to success include mass vaccination campaigns in northern Nigeria, dental and vision clinics in remote Himalayan regions of India, vehicle and warehouse coordination in post-earthquake Haiti, hospital inventory and maintenance in Niger, and leadership courses in Burma. In his work at emBOLDen Alliances, he ensures that field programs and staff are continuously supported and building towards success, efficiency, and quality to help those most in need.
