This young man had a perfect opportunity to show respect for the diversity of the graduating student body while also paying homage to his own personal beliefs. He could have easily said he realized that the student body was comprised of those with different beliefs, but that he attributed his success to some higher power. But by ripping up his approved speech and reciting a prayer at a school function which was supposed to honor the accomplishments of the entire student body, he basically gave any one with a differing point of view "the finger". Rather sad and pathetic and shows absolutely no leadership skills.
