This young man took his own life and so many of us who knew him - TopicsExpress

This young man took his own life and so many of us who knew him are devastated by his action and deeply, deeply saddened. And, yet, veterans who have experienced war, seen war, understand what demons Jacob had to confront. His legacy is his music, his message of non-violence and of being such a fierce opponent of militarism. With all the recent activity about the U.S. engaging again in military activities, who knows, perhaps this was a kind of tipping point for Jacob. We will mourn his death, but remember his legacy and honor him for the good works he did after returning from his three deployments in Afghanistan. Jacob, in one sense, did not kill himself, our government and its corrupt politicians and the corporations who profit from war, are more responsible for Jacobs demise and the many, many other vets who did the same thing, and the many homeless vets, the substance- abuse vets, the vets who are unable to manage their trauma and who suffer as Jacob did from aSoldiers Heart. Rest in Peace, Jacob George. Presente.WT
