This young pony is called Ebony. She was found in Kent earlier this year along with a Shetland pony who had both been neglected. They were not being fed regularly and were both very thin and full of worms. Their feet were overgrown and they were dirty and had lice in their coats. Both ponies were taken into RSPCA care as no one had attended to them for several days, and no owner came forward to claim them. Once in our care we found that Ebony who is such a gentle soul, was very twitchy around her left ear and would not let us touch it. After seeing the vet she was diagnosed with a dentigerous cyst deep inside her ear canal. She needed surgery at the equine hospital to remove it under sterile conditions. We are so grateful to our friends at the Bromley and District Branch of the RSPCA who so generously donated the money we needed to pay for Ebonys surgery. Ebony had her surgery just before Christmas, and it all went very smoothly. She is making a great recovery and will soon be looking for a loving new home of her own. She really is such a gentle pony who has the potential to make a wonderful family pony as she is so straight forward to handle from the ground. She is rising 3 years old and stands at 13.2hh at the moment so should make around 14hh. Please help us share her story in the hope that she will find a loving new home as soon as she is fully recovered.
