Thisll make you tear up. Its a story that recently happened to Gary Rea, an acquaintance of ours who is on the road with his family ministering music to churches around the country. He Cares! We have been ministering mostly in churches but at one of our stops we stayed at a small resort where the owners agreed to let us stay for free in exchange for me playing music at their on-site restaurant. When it was time for me to play at the restaurant there were only a handful of people there and I remember thinking to myself, “what are we doing here Lord?” A couple of songs into the set the owner and his wife came to sit right in front of me to listen to the music while they ate their dinner. A few minutes later they both started crying and holding each other. This went on for a few songs and they seemed really moved. They then left and I finished the set. At the end of the night the owner came up to me and shared that it was the 1 year anniversary of his son passing away from cancer and that I was singing at the exact time that his son passed away and that the songs I was singing (heaven is Here Now, This is a Good Day and others) was exactly what they needed to hear from the Lord and they felt so comforted by God. It taught us to trust that God is moving and working even when we can’t see exactly what He is up to. At almost every stop there have been things that have happened that have confirmed to us that God has gone before us and that He has encounters prepared for us. It’s not easy to step out in faith but it is so worth it not only for those that we will bless but also for us in our journey of becoming more devoted followers of Jesus.
