Thomas Gabbitas The Thought... Is it a bad thing to love your family? No it is not a bad thing God wants us to be happy and thankful for the family you have and to love your family as well as your friends and yourself. Should you love your family more than Jesus Christ? The answer to that is no. Jesus made this clear when he talked to his 12 disciples. In Matthew 10:37-38 says, He that loveth his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me is not worthy of me. When your focus is only on the family same way with friends and or yourself you will not be able to focus on what Jesus wants you to do and will not do it. We got to love Jesus more than our own family and other things. God and his will has to be more important than anything else. If you love God and his will, you will love and care for your family. Dont ever love anything else more than God. If we can keep our eyes on Jesus Christ and follow him daily we will accomplish much.
