Thomas George OHern Born on Dec. 5, 1950 in Chicago, IL to the late George and Bridget (nee Hartigan) OHern. Beloved brother of George, Donna, and the late Tim (Colleen), uncle of Katie, Kelly, Bridget, Jessica, Johnny and Jeff. Died on Nov. 11, 2014 of complications from pneumonia while visiting the USA. Tom was the Founder and Executive Director of Family Hope Charity where he lived in Kenya. In the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul, he dedicated his life to sharing faith and hope with the extremely poor in the most forsaken slums of Nairobi, Kenya. He touched many lives worldwide with his compassion and his tireless work. A celebration of Toms life will be held Sat. Nov. 15th at 10 a.m. at St. Celestines Catholic Church In Elmwood Park, IL. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 11 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to share a Memorial Luncheon after Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Family Hope Charity, P.O.
