Thomas J. Lees December 4, 2014 REDWOOD, N.Y. — Thomas James Lees, 81, died Nov. 30 at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse. He was born Jan. 30, 1933, in Watertown, the son of William D. and Catherine B. Donaghue Lees. His family moved to Redwood in 1939 and he attended Redwood High School. Thomas enlisted in the Army in January 1953, serving time in Germany and was honorably discharged in December 1960. He worked as a clerk for Tiptop Bakery, Watertown for ten years and Pine Tree Point, Alexandria Bay, as a gardner, maintenance man and dishwasher, retiring in 1989. He also provided child care for the Zimmer, Giordano and Fenzel Families in Redwood. Thomas enjoyed bingo, fishing, gambling with family and friends and was an avid Yahtzee player. Survivors include three sisters and a brother-in-law, Margaret C. Amyot, Redwood, Helen A. Fitzsimmons, Redwood, and Noreen F. and William Boyer, Bowling Green, KY; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; The Zimmer Family of Redwood. Four sisters, Mary A. Quinn, Dorothy E. Dougherty, Joanne M. Sharrow, Patricia Estrada, and a brother, William J. Lees, all died before him. Funeral services will be at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., Theresa, at a later date. Burial with military honors will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Redwood.
