Thomas K. Turner ·--Suzette; the general consensus for its initial *eight year run* was that 24 was one of the best shows on television. I kid you not. So...a show where the protagonist relied on torture as a means to an end was considered to be groundbreaking and innovative. It took until somewhere during Seasons 4-5 before depictions of torture and the portrayal of Muslims became notable concerns--in fact, there were also concerns raised along the lines of junior U.S. soldiers were imitating techniques shown on the series. So, yeah: Jack Bauer was pretty popular; a hero, even. I just checked; the show won 20 Emmys, and 24 is one of only four TV series ever to have won the Emmy Award, the Golden Globe and the Satellite Award for Best Drama Series. Yay, torture! Stacy Wilmshurst ·- dark thirty had torture scenes, they were gross and led to nothing... Like the death sentence, one of the biggest problems is wrongful accusations of guilt on innocent people. Charles Brown ---Trouble is many Americans dont use facts to reach conclusions. They use common nonsense and political superstition.
