Those Who Served, a group of U.S. Marine Corps veterans, invited a few guests to help celebrate the 239th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps this evening in the Sanger Community Center. A packed house heard Retired USMC Sgt. Jarrett Kraft remember the action in Fallujah, Iraq, in which he won a Navy Cross. Kraft later participated in the ceremonial cutting of the USMC birthday cake. The first piece of cake went to the oldest Marine who passed it on to the youngest Marine as a symbol of the wisdom and courage older Marines pass on to younger Marines.
