Those accusing us of imposition are hypocrites —APC The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Chief Dele Ajomale, has accused those crying foul over imposition of candidates in the party of hypocrisy saying they have benefited from the very act they condemn. Ajomale said this at an empowerment programme organised by a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Epe Constituency II, Mr. Olusegun Olulade, in Lagos on Sunday. The party chairman, who represented a national leader of the party and former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, assured party faithful that the party will conduct primaries at all levels to choose its candidates for the 2015 general elections. “Many people who are crying foul on imposition are those who benefited from the same thing they are talking about. The party has now resolved that there will be primaries at all levels to elect our candidates openly, so that we will not continue to be accused of imposition,” he said. The programme, which was code-named “Eleniyan Mega Empowerment Programme 2014,” witnessed the distribution of various items to 640 beneficiaries from various wards in the constituency. Some of the items donated were: sewing machines, hair dryers, grinding machines, deep freezers, television sets, mobile phones and food items. Also, speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Affairs, Mr. Folami Musiliu, who stood-in for his principal, Babatunde Fashola, commended the efforts of the donor, Olulade, and urged the people to continue to support the party in order to ensure the continuation of such programmes. Mrs. Adedoja Otedola, who is the widow of a former governor of the state, the late Sir. Michael Otedola, while commending the lawmaker, endorsed him for another term in the Lagos State House of Assembly. Olulade, in his address said that the aim of the programme was to give back to his constituency as a way of appreciating them for trusting him with their mandate for the past three years. “We have done it before and we are doing it again. Today, 640 beneficiaries have been carefully selected across board to be empowered. It is our own little way of responding to the pressing needs of my constituency. Whatever you see today is from my statutory income. I did not receive a penny from anybody,” he said.
