Those of you that know me know that I am as patriotic as they come so that being said Ill see if I can get through this without crying....I was at walmart yesterday. I needed dental floss. I look in front of me and see an elderly man wearing a ww2 veteran hat. I walked up and asked him if I could shake his hand. And thank him for his service. He stood up and said absolutely he told me he had been shot. And he and another man were the only survivors from his squad. He was 90 yrs old.they were in France and snuck into Germany and thats when his squad was killed. He spent 4 months in the hospital. And never went back into battle. I spoke to him for at least a half hour. I thank him for his sacrifice his time served and most important I thanked him for my freedom. Young people remember if not for brave men like him we would not be a free country. Again where ever you are and other veterans out there ...... THANK YOU
