Those of you who are familiar with my teachings know that, over the past thirty+ years, the primary emphasis of my message has been about that which I believe is to be the next event to transpire on God’s great calendar of events---the manifestation of the sons of God (ref. Rom. 8:18-25). Paul wrote that this was the earnest expectation of the whole of creation, and that there’s a universal push, like a woman in travail, to birth it into reality. Never have I known that groan to be as intense as it is in the world today---the contractions are coming closer and closer by the moment! But how do we reconcile the ideas that we’re to live in hope of good things to come, while at the same time dwelling in a state of contentment? I believe that the only way we can do this is by resting confidently in the God who cannot lie. He who has promised shall also bring it to pass. If it was solely up to us, we’d have reason to worry. But I’m content with the knowledge that God stands behind His word to perform it. After all, it was He who put this hope in our hearts in the first place!
