Those of you who know me also know that I am far from being a peace dove but you also know I detest war without clear cut objectives and a solid plan of operation to obtain same. Moreover, I believe that it is cold blooded murder by politicians when they send troops into harms way without the authority to fight to win as has been done in Afghanistan. Now the Obama administration has decided to arm the rebels in Syria. So what the USA (and allies) are going to do is fight a proxie war against the Russians and Iranians who are arming the Syrian government forces. And the irony is that regardless of comes out on top in Syria the USA and allies lose. The Syrian government has never been a friendly one to the west and the rebels appear to be led by hard core Islamists...the same kind that the USA and allies are fighting in Afghanistan. And now my hope is that no American and allied troops are sent to Syria unless in fact Syria attacks an American ally and if that happens then fight to win. nytimes/2013/06/15/opinion/after-arming-the-rebels-then-what.html?hp
