Those of you who shop at Walmart... Do your recall the days that it was the cashiers responsibility to talk to the customer to either ease their minds with a bad experience or to finish cheering the customer up with the excellent purchases they all made... not to mention with some of the regulars having normal conversations as you were remembered by the cashier or even the floor associates...??? do you recall those days? Now it seems that they do not care so much kind of like a wham bam thank you mam thing.... the cashiers do not stay long enough to get to know the public because they are treated like the customer now days like a number. It is all about numbers. I recall having every line open because there were more than 3 people in the line. Cashiers could call for help up front from their cash registers for the CSMs..... But you always tried to keep the best eye contact you could with the customer, smiled and found out how their experience shopping was. If there were complaints you told your supervisor and they told management.... and everyone knew that we were there because of the customer. and if you did not have a customer you straightened up your register, as well as kept it clean..... and if you saw someone looking lost for an open register you enthusiastically invited them to your check out. Being a cashier was an art form.... if you could talk to the customer and make them satisfied that their bad experience was important and that you cared enough to listen and to tell your bosses of the problems.... and get a smile on their faces again before they left... it was a great feeling of accomplishment. If you as a customer miss those days... WRITE, CALL.... what ever it takes, let Walmart know that you miss their old code of ethics and morals. You miss being respected as an individual and not pushed through the line and/or out the door.... LET THEM KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. YOU are the customers and you have rights... after all you spend your hard earned cash there... dont you deserve some time of respect, curteousy and to be treated like a human being... not just a blob being pushed out the door..... If you do not voice your opinion they will never know or care.... It will take more than one... even though that is a great starting point... let your friends know what you think and what you remember of the good shopping experiences at Walmart and tell them you are fed up and want the better or excellent service you used to get. Love and Hugs to all Michelle
