Those of you who still read the print edition of The New York - TopicsExpress

Those of you who still read the print edition of The New York Times might have spotted me today on page A28 in the fine company of Times journalists Elaine Sciolino, Ray Bonner and John Burns. What we all have in common is that we will be the expert leaders of special-interest journeys the Times has created for 2015. They will cover, respectively, Iran; New Zealand; Northern Ireland. I go to Northern Italy to teach everything operatic plus food culture. I will plan the meals and pick the operas we see at La Scala and, probably, Florence and Venice. The ad says my trip will be in November 2015. In fact, I believe I am doing it from the very end of April into the first week of May in 2015. Perhaps the Times has already earmarked me for another. If you or anyone you know wants to spend 9 days learning Italian opera and really discovering its food and wine heritage (I wrote the book!), please let me know. In all likelihood, the spring trip will include visits to the homes of Verdi and Puccini.
