Now gen studies is a vital part of civil service, hence it should be thoroughly studied from authentic books. From personal experience I am giving you a list of books which I believe r best for GS. 1) for history ancient india by r s sharma old book (ncert) or old syllabus class 10 books for banla. med satish chandra old (ncert). indias strggle for independence- bipan chandra( for everyone). 2)Geo- old syllabus class 10 & 6 level books. for detailed study-khullar. 3) polity & const- Laxmikanth. 4) FYP-dutta sundaram . darpans extra issue on eco , tojammel hossein. 5) for reasong & eng- r s agarwal books.6)science-ncert or board level books. science sec from tmh manual. 7) current affairs -civil serv chronicle or wizard. One might refer to certain sections from a gs manual like tmh/ unique/spectrum. Tmh is overall the best, histry sec is good in spectrum. Unfortunately bangla te prochur notun boi publish holeo , authenticity is a problem. Amar mone hoi bipan chandra, certain sect from dutta-sundaram,laxmikanth & tmh manual sokoler pora uchit, regardless whether u write in beng or eng.
