Those who know me well know that I havent always had the best - TopicsExpress

Those who know me well know that I havent always had the best family life and to this day am not very close to my family. I have, however, been blessed to marry into a wonderful one. This past weekend our family was touched by tragedy when my husbands cousin Patrick Wesseler was killed in a car accident. Patrick was only 31 and had his whole life ahead of him. Everyone is deeply saddened to have lost him so suddenly. Last night we traveled to Richmond to be with Patricks parents, sisters and the rest of the family. Everyone reacts differently in these types of situations so you just don’t know what you will encounter. What I found is what I have seen the entire 10+ years that I have been in this family. There is nowhere that anyone would rather be than right there together. Laughter was plentiful and of course there were lots of hugs to go around. Kids were underfoot and rowdy as usual. I’m usually the one that tries to quiet my youngest son but watching him play with his uncle Jamie Wesseler and bring a smile to his face was something I doubt I will ever forget. This family has accepted me and my children from day one and I can never express to them how much that has meant to me. Whether we are together for a hundred years or just one more day I hope they know how much they are loved and cherished. This is a difficult time for the whole family but I know that we will come through this like we have other things in the past, stronger and closer than ever. Please hug your loved ones tight and don’t let a day go by that you don’t tell them how much you love them. So here is a hug to each of you in the Munchel/Singer/Wesseler/Perry/Pitcock/Love family. I love each and every one of you.
