Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me. - Exodus 20:4-5 LIFEWALKS&TALKS: Let us worship the Lord only, for idolatry has always been the downfall of His people....Basically, the Lord makes no secrets about being a jealous God....In addition, current idols are more subtle than ancient ones because todays false gods are often outside the field of religion....In other words, people, possessions, status, and self-aggrandizement are some of the most popular deities today....With this in mind, we must beware of bowing down before these things, for false gods never satisfy; instead, they stir up lust for more and more....However, when we seek the Lord instead of the worlds idols, we experience His Peace and Joy, in which these intangibles quench the thirst of our souls; thus, providing deep satisfaction....Nonetheless, while the glitter of the world is tinny and temporal, the Light of the Lords Presence is forever brilliant and everlasting in Jesus Name. (Exodus 20:4-5)
