Though I know in my heart and mind that the destruction visited upon our Native American brothers and sisters was far greater; that the enslavement of our African brothers and sisters was far worse; and that the tragedies humanity will see in the coming century as a result of our environmental destruction will far eclipse all of that combined; nonetheless my gut is wrenched into the small tragedy that is Palestine, and the bitter irony that a people who saw their own people slaughtered in a Holocaust can turn around and slaughter another people without pity, remorse or self-awareness. The tragedy that is humanity continues. And then I look at my beautiful innocent 3 yr old and.... my stomach hurts. Or maybe it was just too much coffee on a hot day.
