Though I like the idea, the main characters probably look similar because Tim Burton uses caricatures, that I would guess have some root to the Inferno (Or just the bible. His characters just remind me of some of the circles in hell). But the characters look is based on their personality, and the hero of Tim Burton movies all have similar personalities, thus when they are animated, they look the same.
