Though I liked the concept at first, the more I learn about baseball’s new replay rule, the less I like it. In addition to adding time to games that are already way too long, challenges on live balls will be a nightmare. Umpires will have to decide where to place runners once calls are overturned so games will be decided on what umpires think may have happened if they hadn’t missed the call. Instead of running and sliding, there will be huddling and pointing. And then the real arguing will begin. Maybe if they limit teams to one or two challenges per game so only critical plays are reviewed but I don’t know. Great job on the Rays broadcast tonight in looking at scenarios.
