Though cultural representation certainly matters, I can’t escape the feeling that we’re simply posturing, moving from outrage to outrage without ever building any committed practices to intervene and dismantle the systems that we claim to oppose. Outrage within social justice circles grabs attention, but is outrage enough? How many petitions have you signed? How many peaceful rallies have you promoted, organized, and stood in? How many social media stories have you read and shared before moving on to yet more stories to read and share and finding that time has passed you by? Deep Green Resistance is building a culture of resistance to advocate for the dismantling of the infrastructure of oppression, namely key target points in the industrial economy that are multiplying ecocide on a daily basis and expediting the biospheric catastrophe towards global warming beyond previous mass extinctions. We have a 550+ page book, and a completely volunteer-run organization largely based upon this book. We are a life-centered movement, and Love is our cause.
