Though my friends up north might blame my Houston-born, San Antonio-raised mother for instilling me with Texas pride, this should serve as official notice that Ill never change. That state pride burnished brightly today as the Dallas Cowboys emerged victorious against a tried and true Detroit team. Im still surprised that Tony Romo managed to engineer a comeback that matched the likes of what the original Captain Comeback Roger Staubach used to engineer back in the 70s. All in all, Im very proud that were going to Lambeau—proud for my team, my state, and my people whove called both Texas and Tejas their home since the Alamo served as a Spanish mission to convert the Native Americans.
