Though our vow of stability generally means that for Benedictines, - TopicsExpress

Though our vow of stability generally means that for Benedictines, their community of profession is their home community for life, it does happen that, on account of studies or other good reason, monks can spend longer or shorter periods enjoying the hospitality of other monasteries. When doing research in England, for example, during the 1980s, the very hospitable community of Ealing Abbey welcomed me for weeks or months at a time. This year, the community of St. Procopius is honored to have two visiting monks in our midst: Abbot Timothy Wright, former superior of Ampleforth Abbey, who is doing some interreligious work and teaching at our University; and Brother David Freeman of St. Bede Abbey, studying English Literature, also at our University.
