Though postponed a few times this year, the Hakkoryu presentation - TopicsExpress

Though postponed a few times this year, the Hakkoryu presentation at the Japanese Cultural Center In Saginaw, Michigan USA was a big hit today. While much of the days events took place during a near constant downpour of rain, public attendance for the events held under the Cultural Centers big tent was excellent. Kaiden-kichu Joseph Stricker and his students performed examples of techniques from basic to advanced, as well as goshinjutsu applications based on core principles. Kaiden-kichu Devon Smith assisted by explaining to the audience some Hakkoryu history and philosophy, as well as explaining details about the various techniques as they were being presented including their ties with Hakkoryus medical side, Koho Shiatsu. Notable highlights were seeing young Noah Burns (some remember him from this years Taikai in Michigan, USA) easily throwing much larger opponents with Ushiro Zeme Otoshi and Yoko Katate Osae Dori, getting some considerable surprise from the audience. Equally well received was Stricker-senseis Kasa Osae Dori, demonstrating how one may stay dry even when punishing another whos trying to steal their umbrella. Due to the inclement weather, the attendees were especially fond of this technique. Congratulations to Stricker-sensei and students of Hakkoryu Senshinkan Dojo in Saginaw, Michigan USA. hakkoryu/2014/04/hakkoryu-presentation-japanese-cultural-center-saginaw-michigan-usa/
