Though some might like to see how and old house is constructed. This house dates back to 1724 it does not have a foundation. It is build on cedar logs that are just sitting on the ground. The first photos are the before pics of the interior the job was to strip the existing wall and ceiling covering and insulate, fire block the balloon frame structure and sheet rock the ceiling and walls. The blown in insulation that had been done had settled and was only half way up the walls. The wall covering was something I had never run across before. It was thin strips of wood akin to lath that is used for plaster but it had paper glued to each side like drywall. A texture paint had been applied over it. Basically a tinder box waiting for an ignition source.
