Though through legislation and propaganda men have endeavored to remove every last vestige of the concept of God from our government and its institutions, we still hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right, it is the duty, of the People to alter their Government, or, should their Government reduce them under absolute Despotism, refusing every reasoned plea for alterations most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness in a positive manner, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
