Thought I had while reflecting on life during a walk in the snowy woods and fresh crisp air. I notice a lot of us struggle as artists to keep a sustainable life in relation to finances. We push and push our product onto our friends, family, and anybody who cares to blink in our direction. Most of us are specialized for a niche form of trade and are competing with loads of others for the attention of a few. For us to succeed in a financially sustainable manner, weve got to stop pretending like we are owed the world just because we created something. Nobody is forced to support our work, we have to keep focused day in and out to improve our trade for years to create something worthy of awe. We have to be exceedingly skilled to even get a glance, and even then we are just scratching the surface. Rather than pushing our work into peoples eyes and minds like the advertisements we are bombarded with daily; lets allow others to be organically drawn to our work because of its QUALITY. Sure a little promotion is fine here and there, but consistently pushing things onto people will only alienate them. Dedication, attention to detail, and humility over the course of many years will get us to the place we want to be. I know we are all talented, keep pushing forward, refining, innovating, evolving, and well make it.
