Thought I would do an update on Chris Corbett while I am waiting. He is doing some posts himself and as his mom I am so very proud of his attitude and determination. For those of you who do not know Chris was hospitalized on Jan. 16th with what was eventually diagnosed as rhabdomyolysis and H1N1 flu. He spent several weeks in ICU intubated and in a coma - blood transfusions, very near death, many procedures including a feeding tube and a trach. Fast forward through the intervening nightmare to today. He is in rehab at Dr.s Hospital of Augusta learning to walk again and eat again. He is progressing wonderfully well and has a discharge date of next Tuesday, the 25th. We have been told he will have a long rocky recovery but so far so good! We have been profoundly blessed by both God and a multitude of people supporting us in many ways including hospital staff. Anyone wanting to welcome him home next Tuesday is welcome.
