Thought I would write a bit about the feel of PR. Im sure it wont do it justice but this is my impression so far.... This place has a hurried feel to it but in a laid back sort of way. Whatever do you mean Mitch? Well, the driving for example. They drive like maniacs but will not hesitate to let someone in to merge or cross the street. Rarely do you hear a car horn. Same with the foot traffic. You can tell the locals by the way they walk. They have a destination in mind and are determined to get there but dont hesitate to move aside and form a single line on the sidewalk when someone is coming the other way. Once the destination is reached they go into total relax mode. Most everyone here is friendly and helpful. Yesterday I went into a place I had not been (out of VSJ) and wasnt sure I was headed in the right direction and asked for help. The couple said I was pointed properly but if I went over a block fist then kept going it would be safer. Oh shit! Am I heade to a bad part of town?. No its just the traffic there is crazy and a really dangerous place to cross when you get to the bridge. Thank God. Paranoia assuaged. Point is that Im realizing my fears about the crap I read on the interwebs are unfounded. Im sure there are some bad mofos out there but I have yet to meet them. Funny how you read 10 good things about a place and one bad thing and focus on the negative. Or maybe its just me...or rather used to be. Ciao for now.
