Thought Id share my little FW story. I had wanted one for a long time and thought when I moved from the UK to the USA that it would be easier to fine. Anyway my want became obsession when I went to the Mid-Atlantic quilt show and sat beside a lady who had one. The sound of it running was just music to my ears and so I began to hunt. One day whilst scrolling through listings on ebay I found one listed in the UK, but it was an American machine and so no-one there was bidding on it! Perfect - I bid on it, won it, and had it shipped to my brother in Belfast, NI. Then the waiting began because I didnt want to ship it again, and had to wait until I next went home for a visit. 8 months later, I arrived in Belfast and tentatively unpacked it .......... ahhhh pure perfection, it was in GREAT condition, including the foot pedal and case, and looked like it had hardly been used. I wonder if it was taken over to the UK by a USA military wife who then discovered it couldnt be used with the UK voltage and so it simply sat in its case. Now its come full circle and is back in the USA. Its a 1947 model and I LOVE IT.
