Thought Id share some memories about Tanner .... Everyone knows Tanner loved his family most. His second love was his country. Thats why his dream as early as 6 years of age was to get a million dollars and buy a mansion that had a wing on it for every single one of his family members. This included aunts, uncles, and cousins. Then when he knew we were all taken care of he wanted to join the service to go protect his country. On one of our trips to Florida Disney was one of our stops. Tanner found it boring. Was not his cup of tea. What made it even worse, Goofy during a photo shoot, took Tanners hat off his head which produced a lifetime hatred for Goofy. Tanner had a nickname when he was little that he later came to hate(BIG TIME) that nickname was Roy short for OlRoy because we couldnt keep him out of the dogfood. He was always eating it. Blah! Tanner as a baby had such a deep loud belly laugh. When he did it in public people would stop to check him out because it was such a hardy laugh. People would say you should record that laugh its contagious. Now I wish I would have. All the grandkids called my mom grandma. But not Tanner he insisted on calling her Maga. Tanner was always very independent. People used to look at me weird because when hed go off for tests Id sit right where I was at. Not because I didnt want to go hold his hand or be there to encourage him but because Tanner insisted on doing it on his own. And I honored that giving him control where he could get it. But I loved the times when he would say come on Toots come with.
