Thought Id weigh in on the topic of double posting photos. Just to be clear, Im not an administrator on this page, just a member for the last several years. And in those years, Ive posted a butt load of pictures. So, Hope Wilkie Wiebe has recently posted quite a few photos of historical Lethbridge. I can say with certainty, that 99.9 to 100 percent of them have been posted before. A lot of them, posted by me. Each time she posts one, I open it again, and read all of the new comments and memories. Most of those comments are by newer members, that have new memories to add. And it seems that of late, were getting some members that are a lot older than myself. Their memories and knowledge go back far before I was born. Yes, everyone should take a trip through the photo archives. But lets be honest. The archives are a mess. They also contain, I would dare say, thousands of photos. If you went through every photo, youd probably forget half of what you saw by the time you got to the end. So doubles are going to happen. Hell, several weeks ago, a long time member liked a post about not posting doubles. A couple of days later, he posted a photo and guess what. It was a double. Now that was funny. I would bet the farm that Ive posted doubles myself. Probably of pictures that I posted originally. If you recognize one and dont want to look, just dont look. It takes milliseconds to scroll past it. To sum it up, if you find something and want to post it, post it. Id hate for something to stay buried because someone wasnt sure if it was going to annoy someone else for the simple reason it was posted before. As for the archives. Albums are a good thing, especially if your posting things that follow a theme. But if you cant figure out how to make an album, or dont think your picture needs one, I for one know that my world isnt going to fall apart because Ive seen it before. Hell, I see my wifes face every day, and I still look forward to it whenever I wake up.
