Thought and Prayer for Success Today Any life run on self-will can hardly be a success. Driven by a hundred forms of fear, self-delusion, self-seeking, and self-pity, we step on the toes of our fellows and they retaliate. Sometimes they hurt us, seemingly without provocation, but we invariably find that at some time in the past we have made decisions based on self, which later placed us in a position to be hurt. People who are self-centered can be excessively disrespectful. With such a negative attitude, they tend to be unpopular with others who have associated with them even briefly. This results in their inability to form lasting relationships. All their personal qualities of intelligence, ability, talent, etc. become nothing if they remain incorrigibly self-centered. Consider that what we are experiencing today is the sweet or bitter fruit of whatever actions we have taken or decisions we made previously. Only God can help us discover the real power and personal impact of sin. Lord, help me to rise out of my attitude of self-centeredness, out of my egotism. Please free my thinking and feelings from all forms of self-will, self-centeredness, dishonesty, and deception. I need this freedom to make my choices today according to Your desires. Send Your Spirit to inspire me in time of doubt and indecision so that, together, we can walk along Your path. Amen.
