Thought for Today 6 Psalm 8:3 “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,” Psalm 147:4 “He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.” Isaiah 40:22 “It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.” I have just watched the most amazing video clip of creation as depicted by our nearest neighbouring galaxy, Andromeda. Watch it for yourself here https://youtube/watch?v=udAL48P5NJU and, I hope like me, you will be both overawed and thrilled by seeing a virtual demonstration of the truth of the verses above. As I watched, once again I was drawn to worship Him; to marvel and wonder at the incredible creation in which we live. Why is the Lord taking me on this journey, I wonder. Can’t be to convince me about Himself – I already joined the choir. Can’t be to let me realise how big He is – I already had a view on that. I reckon it must be to instil and confirm that Biblical expression, a healthy fear of God – the beginning of wisdom the Bible calls it. I have been asking for it – “about time” I hear some say – and the Bible says of that, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5 This is what makes being Christian exciting – the as yet undisclosed and unfulfilled plans that God has for our lives.
