Thought for Today: Who Do You Revere? By Tonya R. Osborne The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant. Psalms 25:14 (NKJV) The One New Man Bible exchanges the word fear for revere. As humans we seem to misunderstand or misinterpret the word fear. So, revere is a better usage for us. Here is the definition: to have great respect for (someone or something) : to show devotion and honor to (someone or something): to show devoted deferential honor to : regard as worthy of great honor. Based on this verse and definition, Im wondering how many Christians actually revere the Lord? We all want Him to speak mysteries to us, confirm His plan and purpose for us, reveal His thoughts towards us, and declare His promises over us. However, how many Christians lives actually bear fruit that they revere Him? Actually, it is easy to access based on this scripture. Either you function daily out of the overflow of intimate time spent with Him in the Secret Place, or you do not. Either you have a vision based on your purpose that guides your daily decisions, or you do not. Either you are leaning on His Everlasting Arms inside His Covenant, or you are not. So, who do you revere? If you answer this question with Truth, it could change your life!
