Thought for the Day: Crapehanger: I am trying to commit - TopicsExpress

Thought for the Day: Crapehanger: I am trying to commit myself to posting a thought a day. Yesterday my thought was on abundance and it came rather easy. Today, however, I have sat and thought for quite some time and I could not think of a single word to focus in on. So, I went to dictionary to find a bit of inspiration. The word for the day there is crapehanger. I, having never used this word, found it interesting especially after looking up its definition and pronunciation. Pronunciation : krypt: tales from the crypt; mysterious, mystic; a hidden place under an altar; burial place hang*er*: purposed death by to self or another usually following a judgement; to put to death by suspending by the neck from a gallows, gibbet, yardarm, or the like Definition: n1: a person who sees the gloomy side of things; pessimist. Also this morning, I noticed a Facebook post which i have seen time and time again that said this: A jealous girlfriend is a faithful girlfriend. If she doesnt get jealous when someone has your attention, its because someone else has hers. This is a seemingly fair assumption, right? Wrong. Truth is a matter of perception and nothing is absolute. Lets disect this statement standing by itself without any other obstacles or circumstances. The point of this excercise is to learn to think differently, in a non-biased way. A jealous girlfriend is a faithful girlfriend: How many relationships are tarnished, less than they ought, or are outright put to death because of jealousy? How does being jealous then make someone faithful? Faithful is not being jealous but rather, trusting. If she doesnt get jealous when someone has your attention, its because someone else has hers: How absurd when speaking in a general sense. Maybe its again because she trusts you. It could be too, that shes not so egotistical and needy as to believe that you wont somehow care for others and enjoy their company as well. In a general sense then, the problem isnt lack of jealousy at all, but inside the one who believes this as an absolute fact. It is their own low self esteem causing this negative thought process. Dont be your own worst enemy by conforming to this negative thought process. Boost yourself, your own self esteem, by changing the way you think. Again, this is a generalized post. If you are assuming the worst without solid evidence, stop. Dont be someone with a crapehanger attitude who gives up before the dawn comes. Always first focus on the potential good. Instead of burying the potential for greatness, bury what stops it within yourself.
