Thought for the Day: Its official- Im a graduate student AGAIN!! Ive enrolled in the Masters Degree program at American Public University, one of only a handful of accredited institutions across the country which have a full range of on-line programs in American history, which Ill be focusing on. Ill be delving into the roots of the American experience, with a particular emphasis on one fascinating individual- Alexander Hamilton. The more I read and research this remarkable man, the better I understand how much he contributed to our struggle for independence, fighting in several battles of the American Revolution and also being an important part of the founding of our republic, the foundations of our economic and financial systems and the underpinnings of our legal system, the Treasury Department, the Coast Guard, the Customs Service, the military academies at West Point and others and numerous entities which may never have come to life without his foresight and genius.
