Thought for the Day! July 11th, 2014 1 Thessalonians 5:17 - “Pray without ceasing.” Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I care not a straw whether they be clergymen or laymen; such alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of heaven on earth. God does nothing but in answer to prayer. -- John Wesley Prayer is the most important thing a Christian can do. I learn this anew each and everyday. My brother or sister, if you are not spending time in communion with the Lord each and everyday, you need to get right with God! Prayer is as essential to the Christian’s walk with God as water is to sustain life! Are we so neglecting, we will give God but a few moments? There I prayed! Then we will go and spend 4 hours in front of the TV watching The World Series! What is wrong with us people? Our standards are completely out of whack! How important is communion with your children in your life, parents? If they do not talk to you, something is wrong, right? How do you feel if they do not come to you on a daily basis, many times a day, to just talk with you? I know how it feels not being able to talk to my nephews and nieces. If I do not talk with them on the phone often, I miss them so very much. They are the closest I have to children. If this is how it feels for us, what about God? It must be so much worse for Him! How must He feel when we do not talk to Him. Prayer is truly the most important part of my day!! Make it yours! A Word Of Prayer By: Frances M.
