Thought for the day: Every day we send swimwear to online shoppers all over Australia. Our policy is one of unconditional trust. We do not ask for card or bank details. In fact we do not charge them until they have received the swimsuit and are happy with it. We are one of the few companies that would do this and to date no one has let me down. I do it for two reasons. Firstly, I am ‘old school’ and loved the days when you left your car and house unlocked, let your kids play on their own in the park and strangers said G’day to you in the street. Secondly, it restores my faith in human nature. The fact that everyone pays tells me, contrary to popular belief, that there are still a lot of good people left in this world and they far outnumber the bad ones. It is possible that some people may steal swimwear from my shops. There is a huge industry that tells me this happens. I do not see it so I don’t lose sleep over it. If someone has to steal from me they are already being punished. Their lives are their punishment. To wake up each morning knowing that you are a thief and can’t be trusted must be awful, especially if you have kids. I have been going to India long enough to understand Karma very well and you may not be found out, but you never ever get away with it. David Herring
