Thought for the day. For those of you with children, when you listen to what they say make sure you understand what they mean. When I was a little girl of 6 my mum left me with a trusted friend of her’s whilst she went abroad to try to patch things up with my dad. One day a lady came over for a cup of tea with her small white Shih Tzu, it had recently been shown at Cruffs and was a very valuable animal. I was bored that day and told my auntie I was going to do some oil painting. About an hour later they came outside to see how my painting was getting on. There was an enormous shriek and then screaming as they saw this precious white animal was now the colour of the rainbow. I was seriously in trouble sent to bed with no tea and felt extremely miffed. After all I had told them I was going to paint the dog! This lesson in rough justice at such a young age served me well later on in life, especially whilst building my business, as I always try to understand what someone means rather than just listen what they say!
