Thought for the day – JEALOUSY. Jealousy isn’t a pretty emotion but unfortunately we have probably all experienced it at one time or another! Perhaps a friend attracted the very person you wished to attract; or a coworker received the promotion that you deserved; or someone else won a prize that you really wanted to win. Whatever it is, pray about it and ask God to cleanse your heart of any ill will toward that person. Things like jealousy, envy and other self-defeating thoughts stand between us and God. Be glad for your friend; congratulate your coworker and forget the prize you did not win. The prize you WILL win is that of pleasing our God. The peace that will bring your heart is worth the effort. “Wrath is cruel, anger is overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?” – Proverbs 27:4
