Thought of the Day: Draw close to me It was 5:05AM when I opened my eyes this morning and I heard this voice say to me Draw close to me. Over the last few days I have been so exhausted all I could do was sleep. I think yesterday afternoon was the first time I opened my bible since Saturday. My mind was so tired I couldn’t absorb a thing. Years ago I would have felt guilty that I really didn’t formerly pray or study yet my heart was always toward him. I am realizing I am loved not for what I do but for who I am. James 4:8 says “And when you draw close to God, God will draw close to you.” It says “and when” meaning when we draw close to him the fact, the reality, the divine promise is “GOD WILL DRAW CLOSE TO YOU.” It didn’t say if you get lucky, if you do everything just right. There are simply no conditions. So I asked the Lord to lead me to a new worship song because I know worship creates an atmosphere for his presence. I listen to this song a few times – now I am going to be still and worship and I will wait to see if he will speak but more importantly I can just be with him. The more I am with him the more I know that no matter where I go he goes with me/us. The more I worship the more I am aware he is with me/us! If we draw close to him he will draw close to you/us.
