Thought of the Day: Hold on my child Sitting here and worshiping I heard so clearly tell my children to hold on. Our future is in his hands! For his name is faithful, redeemer, Father, friend. In all of our lives we have come to a place of hopelessness. There have been times when we have all felt like we’ll never accomplish the purposes of God we were created for. Hold on my child. Our faults and failures often stare at us and we feel so unworthy. Our mind reminds us of all our poor decisions or perhaps people or circumstances remind us of the same. Hold on my child. There are times we are overwhelmed with discouragement. Times we feel lost in the woods and we’ll never find our way out. Hold on my child. We are reminded of everything we are not. We reminded we’ll never measure up to people’s expectations. Hold on my child. When these and other thoughts fill our mind we just need to remember that it is God who began the work in us and it is God who will finish the work in us. Philippians 1:6 (CEV) “God is the one who began this good work in you, and I am certain that he won’t stop before it is complete on the day that Christ Jesus returns.” We are incapable of completing ourselves. We were never told to complete the work that until we take our last breath still needs to be done in us. Did you see the phrase “God is the one who began this good work in you, and I am certain that he won’t stop.” Say it “I AM CERTAIN!” Then there God’s voice in Psalm 138:8 - Hold on my child because… • (GNT) “You will do everything you have promised; Lord, your love is eternal. Complete the work that you have begun.” • (TLB) “The Lord will work out his plans for my life.” • (MSG) “Finish what you started in me, God. Your love is eternal—don’t quit on me now.” • (NLT) “The Lord will work out his plans for my life; for your faithful love” Hold on my child – I LOVE YOU! Then there is:
