Thought of the Day How many are or know somebody that has been a part of the bodybuilding lifestyle and they feel like outsiders? Why are we instantly judged negatively for not wanting to live a little, having goals, aspiring to be something great, and condemned for always being on a diet? What makes each individual pursue their own goals even though it may feel like an uphill battle? Does everybody believe that this is their purpose or calling in life; to inspire others through actions? Most people feel inferior around fitness people because we are outsiders against the majority of people. Sadly, today most people lack the inner drive to have the body that they crave for; so they instantly hate us for our efforts. It is not that we are better than everybody else, but we are better than we used to be. Instead of always wishing for the ideal physique, fitness enthusiasts are grinding out hard work and effort everyday. It is not easy to eat the same types of foods day after day and head to the gym day after day; year after year. One may look at a person with amazing physique and simply think oh that’s easy, I can do that no problem. Fitness enthusiasts are mentally the toughest people on the planet, despite lack of monetary gains for their pursued passions. Even though most people might instantly hate us, it is up to us to reach out, educate, inform, and instruct through positive actions. Help somebody re rack the weights, help somebody if they look confused, help somebody with their meal plan, help somebody with their workouts, and help somebody build their mental clarity. It is up to us to inspire and help people who are secretly struggling for more control over their lives. The hardest step is often the first step. Small steps taken daily towards the desired ideal physique will eventually pay off. It takes years and years to become obese and out of shape; so in essence it will also take years to look the best one has ever looked. Do not give up when the going gets tough, just know it is a temporary delay and the results will come with diligence, effort, and time. Celebrate those small victories and know that you will have the ideal physique you have always dreamed about. -Brett Johnson-
