Thought of the Day: Will you come and linger with Me? I sat - TopicsExpress

Thought of the Day: Will you come and linger with Me? I sat down to find new worship songs so I could worship. This is my favorite thing to do when I get up in the morning. I let the dogs out, put the coffee on and then I worship. Tears now running down my cheeks. Last Sunday I stood to share. It was almost embarrassing to say anything because the presence of God was so tangible. After just a few minutes I began to try not to cry. After service my closet friend said you’re getting soft in your old age. I will sit and worship and the presence of God overwhelms me. After years of fasting, studying, and striving I have come to know His presence, His love, His mercy, His grace and yes his affection; simply by taking the time to seek him through worship. David when he was in the wilderness of Judah writes in Psalm 63:1 “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You.” Haven’t we discovered that we are strangers here therefore I will arise in the morning and I will seek HIM. I spent years studying about him! Now I can know him! As I began to worship I heard “will you linger here a while with me?” Then he said “invite others to come.” This is what Joshua did in the tent outside the camp of Israel. When you read this account notice Moses pitched his tent outside the camp. We need to meet with God outside of all the routine, away from the busyness of life. The results will be God will come and meet with you. You’ll read that Moses left and Joshua stayed behind. Perhaps Moses was feeling compelled that he needed to go deal with all the demands of the day. Too often we feel the demands of the day and we leave the presence of God too soon. What if Moses had spent more time with God? Perhaps Moses anger issues would have been dealt with. Exodus 33:7-11 “Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp, far from the camp, and called it the tabernacle of meeting; (FAR FROM THE CAMP). And it came to pass that everyone who sought the Lord went out to the tabernacle of meeting which was outside the camp. So it was, whenever Moses went out to the tabernacle, that all the people rose, and each man stood at his tent door and watched Moses until he had gone into the tabernacle. And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses. (YES HE WILL COME) All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door. So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.” What happens when we worship? We are quiet and we listen. WE LISTEN! Will you come and linger with Me? youtu.be/9svNAjMg0yQ
