Thought of the Day from Tuesday, October 15th, 2013 Give someone a cause and you can also give them a fully automatic assault rifle, uniform, and produce a fresh recruit! Young minds and the souls behind them will always serve as the collateral fodder for causes that bring entire nations and civilizations to heads with each other. In its simplest terms, what is war and how are otherwise sane individuals convinced to murder, plunder, and pillage lesser societies or nations in which they are deployed? Understanding the rationale of war provides the student/scholar of history with an ability to screen through all of the abstracted idealized fog that is sold to the inexperienced youth to serve, fight, and kill by the mainstream social institution. In order to break down such an all encompassing perspective we must postulate over the potency of such ideas. When people feel that the survival of their posterity is at stake they are moved to take some sort of affirmative form of action, but the institution is smart enough to provide them with enough material collateral to follow through with that superficial sacrifice. After exposing themselves to the dangers of the frontline, they inflict physical and psychological pain that generally creates a much more collected view of the world for what it really is if they in fact survive the aftermath. War is a gruesome sport and as long as it is perceived as such a thing it will be viewed as a necessity that must be broken out of its protective casing in the event of an emergency. There is no such thing as an absolute world of peace; never has been never will be. Someone somewhere will be committed to disrupting the peace that is responsible for the cultivation and sustainment for global order which is why a force for global defense must be proposed and ready to fight the war for perpetual peace. Maybe when this idea is sold to the young, naïve, and inexperienced, they will be less reluctant to serve as fodder for elitists and realize that war is in fact an acceptable necessity when injustices that undermine humanity are at hand. In a nutshell, we can describe this as a global paradigm that could possibly be staged to end all wars.
